Edward VIII, later the Duke of Windsor, was also the King who abdicated his crown for the woman he loved. The woman he loved, the twice American divorcee, was Wallis Simpson, later the Duchess of Windsor.
Despite the complicated, controversial story and history of this two, they each had more chic and style in their little fingers than many an over-and-under-dressed fashionable “celebs” of today.

Agreed…and confidently stylish in every decade. I went several times to the Sotheby’s viewing years ago prior to the auction of their estate….and this gathering of objects (nicely installed) exuded style too. Unforgettable…whatever you think of them politically and otherwise.
