pecial guest/TZIPORAH SALAMON TALKS ABOUT HER 8th OUTFIT: #8 in 16 acts

What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
40’s rayon men’s pajamas
Yojhi Yamamoto white shirt
Vintage beaded collar
Prada shoes
Vintage bag
Vintage parasol
Vintage flowers in my hair
Vintage earrings
Vintage ivory bracelet

How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?  I started with the pants: I love anything stripes.  A white shirt to pick up the white in the stripes seemed the obvious choice and I love the crispness of a white shirt for summer.  The beaded collar was the needed element to take the minimum shirt up a notch.  The accessories, especially the parasol complete the outfit.

Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
It was planned ahead of time.  It took several years until I acquired all the components.

On a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/outfit?
I’d give it a 7.  I am still waiting for the perfect hat to appear.

What roles do color, the fit, and integrity of fabric play in this particular outfit?  Color is important in that the vibrancy of the green with the white stripes of the pants is offset by the crispness of the white shirt.  The red flowers pick up the red in the bag, which is green white, and red and the green and beige mules continue the color scheme, as do the earrings and parasol.

How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
It’s the perfect outfit for a hot summer day.

There is perhaps a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to the what/how we dress. What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit?
I feel good in this outfit – I love its freshness and simplicity.  it’s like a cool breeze on a hot summer day.

Fresh ideas here – you look particularly radiant in this one. Definitely echoing some trends upcoming for SS13 that were on the runways last week.

  3. Graziella says:

    Tziporah, you look lovely.

  4. Suella says:

The flowers are a very nice stand-in for a hat. They are more youthful somehow. I suspect the outfit looks more of a daytime spring and summer with the flowers.

The right hat would make the outfit look more planned, somehow more dignified and more of an event. It would certainly be an evening outfit then.
    Good hunting!

  5. Heidi says:

Beautifully composed and worn, right down to her toes!
