PICTURE: #4 IN SIXTEEN ACTS
SPECIAL GUEST INTERVIEW:
LUCIA HWONG GORDON TALKS ABOUT HER 4th OUTFIT
What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
Nicole Miller one shoulder blue silk gown
Manolo Blahnik blue satin sandals
Same Sky bracelets
Blue topaz ring from Istanbul
Bulgari Serpenti watch
How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?
When I saw the dress at the Nicole Miller store on Madison, I thought it is perfect for a charity gala or black tie party. I knew I already had the perfect blue satin Manolo sandals to complement the outfit.
Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
Each time I wear this gown it will be spontaneous. When going to a gala or party, I love a dress that I can jump into quickly and dance in. I will also accessorize with what suits my fancy at the moment!
On a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/outfit?
10 – The composition of the different layers and textures of blue creates both tranquility and interest.
What roles do color, the fit, and integrity of fabric play in this particular outfit?
The symphony of blue colors from the silk dress, satin shoes, ocean colored bracelets and topaz ring gives me great energy flow. The rich silk fabric and color is very luxurious for the holiday season.
How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
I loved dancing in this gown at the New York City Ballet gala. Bill Cunningham took a picture of me which was included in the NY Times Sunday Styles section, so I’ll have to wait a little while before wearing it again!
There is perhaps a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to the what/how we dress. What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit?
This Nicole Miller dress has such a graceful flow and cut, complete with a flowing train. I feel like a resplendent ocean wave coming to shore.
