SPECIAL GUEST INTERVIEW:
MONTGOMERY FRAZIER TALKS ABOUT HIS 7th OUTFIT
What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
Burgundy velvet by Thom Browne
Burgundy mini polka dot shirt by Club Monaco
Silk byzantine motif neck scarf by Nicole Miller
Leopard silk pocket scarf by Gucci
Glasses by Selima Boutique
Grey/burgundy tartan cashmere slacks by Asprey
Cinnamon colored socks by Calvin Klein
Ostrich skin shoes by Mezlan
Snakeskin bracelet by Bottega Veneta
Silver & black diamond ring by David Yurman
How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?
The “lord of the manor” was the inspiration for this ensemble. I wanted to look like I owned the joint! lol
Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
Planned, I actually wore a version of this outfit to my client, Lola Astanova’s, debut concert pianist performance at Carnegie Hall, hosted by Donald Trump and Julie Andrews…so I felt that it was worthy of a repeat performance for this feature….
On a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/outfit?
10….I feel like myself when I dress in this fashion, possibly a re-incarnate feeling from a past life, in the days of Czarist Russia….
What roles do color, the fit, and integrity of fabric play in this particular outfit?
Richness in expensive fabrics and materials were my motivation for the theme of this ensemble, velvet, cashmere, silk, ostrich skin, snakeskin and black diamonds….LUXE AND OH SO EXPENSIVE AND ALL MINE…NOTHING BORROWED FOR EDITORIAL CREDIT! lol
How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
I’ve already stated that this is indeed a repeat outfit from a past event which I was involved in….Probably NEVER AGAIN, because I’ve already worn it once before to a public event where I was photographed, documented and it appeared in print….But I would mix up the pieces and reinvent a totally different ensemble, with different elements and a different theme….
There is perhaps a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to the what/how we dress. What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit?
A deja vu feeling….A reincarnation of a era and life which I might have lived before, because this felt so incredibly natural and second nature to me….like I’d been there before!
