special guest/FLORA COLLINS: talks about her 7th outfit. #7 in ten acts

What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
I used an Alice + Olivia custom dress, Manolo Blahnik vintage heels, and a thrift shop stole.

How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?
I often “shop” in my mother’s closet, which is where this gown and stole came from. I wanted to play around with something long with a lot of drapery, as I don’t often get the chance to wear such pieces.

Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
This was completely spontaneous!

In a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/outfit?

What roles do color, the fit, and integrity of fabric play in this particular outfit?
As usual, the color of my hair has played a huge role in my decision-making. The dress has hints of gold and red, which is echoed in the stole, the shoes, and my pulled-up hairstyle

How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
If my mother lets me and I have an event that demands such an outfit, I’d love to wear this same outfit again very soon.

There is perhaps a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to what/how we dress. What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit?
This outfit definitely evokes another time. I feel glamorous, almost like a vision from Old Hollywood. I tend to go for a more modern look, so these pieces were a definite change for me.

Flora looks amazing. Not surprised to hear she shops in her chic mother’s closet.
