special guest/HEIDI ROSENAU: talks about her 7th outfit. #7 in thirteen acts

What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
Circa. 1943 fuschia felt hat
two-piece rayon dress with eyelet blouse
leather perforated oxfords

How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?
The day we shot was nearly 80 in October…and I was yearning for spring.

Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
My husband found this incredible hat for me in San Diego, and when Easter rolled around a couple of years ago, I felt compelled to try and build an outfit around it.  Fortunately, the other pieces already existed in my closet, but the hat gave them new reasons to immerge and come together.

On a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/outfit?

What roles do color, the fit and integrity of fabric play in this particular outfit?
The rich fuchsia shade of the hat is my statement here, and when this outfit comes out in the spring, it’s a celebration of a new season.

How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
A very seasonal choice…

There is perhaps a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to what/how we dress. What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit?
Any hat tilted over the eye that forces the wearer to look through it—as this one does—will make one feel a bit mysterious and saucy.  I certainly do here…

Heidi, you’re always fantastic. Whenever I see you on a dance floor, I know it’s going to be special. I remember being intimidated by you & Joe because of your total commitment to your style. But then I met you & realized how friendly you both are. 😎

Only Heidi could use eyelet and perforated in a sentence and it actually makes sense.

Who else can make make this happen.

Can we talk about her comportment!!!

  3. RPaul says:

Love the hat. Joe definitely has an eye for vintage fashion.

Shades of the look my Mother wore in the 40’s and I have a mesh purse similar to the one you are holding, which belonged to my stylish, Mother-In-Law. Great Hat!!
