What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
Silk Chinese jacket – Prada
Eyelet top
Silk printed floral pant
Red French Vintage Earrings
Satin shoes – Badgley Mishka
Bag – Prada gold mini
How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?
It took time—I bought the jacket and trousers in Shanghai at a market; when in Paris this spring I saw this yellow eyelet top that is not really my color put together it is magical and I adore it…I purchased the shoes to complete the look in NY. In addition, I bought the little gold Prada bag in Paris and I am in love with it. I wanted something fun to wear to the fresh air home decorator’s event and since it tends to be cool in June I needed a jacket…I like the whimsy of this ensemble.
Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
It took time to plan.
On a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/outfit?
It’s an 8
What roles do color, the fit, and integrity of fabric play in this particular outfit?
The fabric feels soft and glamorous on the skin…the color is not what I usually wear. The contrast of the eyelet texture with the silk works…
How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
I can see wearing this fairly often, may be not all the pieces together, but I will definitely wear all off them again numerous times.
There is perhaps a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to the what/how we dress. What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit?
It’s funny to see a blond Caucasian woman in Chinese garb..I am going to play with a dark short bob with this as well may be it’s fun too! My daughter is Chinese so yes there is an emotional tie to her heritage and I feel that I am letting the world know that I think it is beautiful and to be admired and respected by wearing it.

A trendy blend of Chinese and American fashion with hints of royal undertones. An everyday regal presence.
I love the pants! They are amazing. Such a great look.
