special guest/PAT CLEVELAND: talks about her 3rd outfit. #3 in ten acts

What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
It wasn’t difficult; I chose my color for the day and a favorite pair of shoes.

How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?
It is one of my many Sunday dresses.  The alabaster or rather sand stone color with its modern medieval style metal eyelets at the hem caught my attention, it has a beautiful simplicity which combined with my mood of the day, had me choose it, “wear me” it said, yes my clothes have a life of their own; sometimes I’m not sure if they animate me, or I animate them, but then I believe it is really a little of both, because clothing makes me want to go out to do stuff…. After all, the big question is what would one wear to Bungee jump in?  Never mind… I don’t think I’ll be doing that… but Parasailing? Definitely yes!

Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
I did have a sudden impulse to pick this particular dress…  I get this electric feeling, which runs, up my spine when I select a dress for the day.

In a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/ outfit?
I give this dress a 10 plus.

What roles do color, the fit and integrity of fabric play in this particular out fit?
Since I dress by color, which in it self seeing is a great privilege and seeing that there are many colors to chose from the rainbow, I like to chose the most reflective colors and dress which is not really a color but a tone of a non color which is as close to white for what it is; So white for me is my Sunday non color, which reflects all color, this is just a shade tone higher towards white in the sand color…and the fit is for comfort, one simple snap at the collar holds the dress on; Stephan Burrows is a genius for employing the simplest closings—i.e. the snap at the neck or waist—for his designs…and this poplin durable fabric  gives me the freedom to go just about anywhere, even to sit on a park bench long enough to ground my energy, some times I just kick off my shoes and wiggle my toes in the grass to feel beautiful on one with the earth that is why I love shoes that are easy to get off and on especially in the summer… anyway this out fit is great for the city or on a lunch date on a nice yacht what ever country you are in at the time.

How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
For as many Sundays, as a summer season will allow and then some.

Personally I firmly believe that there is a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to what/how we dress.  What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit?
Spiritually, I often think about my soul, it is just energy, my spirit feels free wearing this dress on my physical body as I walk  on this  celestial body called Earth… sometime I feel all emotional and passionate about my clothes, intellectually well, there has to be some logic behind why I dress as I do, which when I think about how I dress, I believe it is just for the sheer joy of it, because I can….  As for the psychological aspect, I am very  ‘-ing’ in this dress, just being, and ready to have fun.

This is fantastic news!!!a0 My local PBS stioatn carries your show but is very haphazard in the way they are shown.a0 You might get 1 part of a 3 part series.a0 Or they may show them in the wrong order.a0 This is very frustrating.a0 With the shows being available online, this is one less thing to be frustrated about and one more thing to be excited about.a0 I’ve been watching your show for over 25 years.a0 Still loving it.a0 Thank you for this new way to keep in tune.
