SPECIAL GUEST INTERVIEW:
PAT CLEVELAND TALKS ABOUT HER 7th OUTFIT
What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
Simple violet confetti pattern dress, and strapless summer shoes.
How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?
It was WET, WET RAINY day in New York, a week or so before hurricane, Irene. Iké and I hadn’t foreseen the rain but we soldiered on, had fun and shot under the heavy down-pour which stole most of the daylight but I love the effect and sensation. Even though it was an afternoon, it became like an evening under the stars, so this was my best choice for a Friday, the right color, which is all shades of blue or violet.
Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
Oh it is definitely planned, I always choose a dress by the color of the day to line up with the energy of the cosmos, and colors just give me energy. This dress is my ‘Super Hero’ cape for the evening.
In a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/ outfit?
I could live in this twenty-four seven…or even swim in it, because the fabric dries quickly.
What roles do color, the fit and integrity of fabric play in this particular out fit?
Soft flexible silk jersey feels like bathing in nectar on the skin, and the color violet well it is stimulating to the subconscious mind, where I find my true self.
How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
Through out the summer season, or in warm weather, where ever that might be in the world.
Personally I firmly believe that there is a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to what/how we dress. What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit
A fresh air of ‘Freedom’ the puppet strings of constriction are cut, the body breathes, the mind is at ease because the body is allowed to just be free, that is my relationship with this outfit, plus it brings out the DARING SIDE in me because of its EXTREMELY LOW cut back.
