PICTURE: #7 IN SEVEN ACTS
SPECIAL GUEST INTERVIEW:
PETER DAVIS TALKS ABOUT HIS 7TH OUTFIT
What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
The jacket is by my London tailor, Timothy Everest—nothing like tea and bespoke clothing in Spitafields at Tim’s studio! The shirt is Thom Browne. I have so many Thom Browne shirts – they fit me perfectly. The tie and handkerchief are Charvet and I found them in Paris at their store there. The grey pants are by Ron Herman.
How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?
I like to always be a bit over-dressed for everything so I like bow ties as you can hit a black tie benefit and a nightclub on the Lower East Side and feel great in both places.
Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
This look is so me that it took about 30 seconds to put together. I am a very fast dresser.
In a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/outfit?
A 10. The jacket is perfection thanks to Timothy Everest who really is a 10 in my book when it comes to bespoke clothing.
What roles do color, the fit and integrity of fabric play in this particular outfit?
The Thom Browne shirt has little white dots everywhere that you can only see close-up. I love that subtle detail.
How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
This is the type of outfit I pretty much wear every day.
Personally, I firmly believe that there is a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to what/how we dress. What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit?
I love the bespoke jacket and since I helped “design” it with my mastermind tailor Timothy Everest, it seems like I was part of the whole process and I know I will never see anyone in the same jacket ever.
