PICTURE: #4 IN SIXTEEN ACTS
SPECIAL GUEST INTERVIEW:
TZIPORAH SALAMON TALKS ABOUT HER 4th OUTFIT
What items did you use to compose this particular outfit?
Vintage Angelo Tarlazzi dress bought at the Pier Show Vintage straw hat with horsehair
My mother’s gold link bracelet from the 40’s
Vintage Lucite bag
How did you arrive at the decision to compose such an outfit?
The dress works on its own and needs little embellishment. The hat picked up on the colors of the dress—mainly blue with the white accent. The blue of the necklace and the white purse continue the thread of the colors.
Did you compose this outfit spontaneously or was it planned ahead of time?
I had the dress for 5 years and did not wear it because I didn’t have the right hat. Once I found the hat, it worked.
On a scale of 10, how pleased are you with this composition/outfit? 7.
It still needs work and can be better.
What roles do color, the fit, and integrity of fabric play in this particular outfit?
Because of the richness yet simplicity of the dress, I kept it simple with a small hat and just a minimum of jewelry. I played up the fullness of the skirt by adding a petticoat under the dress.
How soon would you repeat/wear this same outfit again?
I would wear it for a special occasion.
There is perhaps a spiritual, emotional, intellectual or psychological aspect to the what/how we dress. What is your personal experience in relation to this outfit?
I feel very regal in the dress. Because of its length and fullness of the skirt, it reminds me of a ball gown and I glide as I walk.
